What You Will Learn...

Critical takeaways that are vital to dementia risk reduction

blood sugar icon

Blood Sugar Woes

How the toxic effect of high blood  sugar to your body and your brain is in part mediated by a damaging process termed glycation. Glycation and the formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) have been shown to potentially increase the risk for dementia in susceptible individuals as they age.

brain inflammation

Brain Inflamation

How chronic inflammation and a related process, oxidative stress, begins to put your brain at risk for a dementia related disease process as you age. The key factors that underlie these brain toxic mechanisms are in part due to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The early assessment and intervention of these chronic disease patterns may significantly reduce your risk for dementia or Alzheimer's disease as you age.

Brain Energy

Brain Energy Crisis

Why the earliest stages of late-onset Alzheimer’s disease that is marked by brain energy metabolism deficits sets  the stage for more significant cognitive  decline as you age and the heightened risk for Alzheimer's disease. Research now indicates that the pre-clinical (asymptomatic) stage of Alzheimer's disease is marked by mitochondrial dysfunction and a critical reduction in the metabolism of glucose in the brain (glucose hypo-metabolism)

Genetic Susceptibility

What are the key risk genes associated with late onset Alzheimer’s disease & how they potentially converge with  environmental risk factors (diet-lifestyle) that contribute to an individuals combined risk. The identification of a person's genetic susceptibility to Alzheimer's disease and a host of other genetic risk factors can provide vital information that enables dietary and lifestyle strategies to potentially reduce the risk for dementia as one ages.

Why Read this Book?

The incidence of Late-onset Alzheimer’s disease is expected to triple by the year 2050. Between 2002 to 2012 a staggering 99.6 percent of the Alzheimer’s disease drug trials seeking a disease modifying benefit failed and recent trials have not delivered either.

Is there a solution to the pandemic of Alzheimer’s disease? There is! A transformational paradigm shift in the quest for a solution to Alzheimer’s disease that is centered on risk reduction and early detection and intervention, is now gaining momentum as a viable model for the abatement of this global crisis.

Age-related diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease are preventable disorders and trials and clinics around the world are demonstrating the very same for late-onset Alzheimer’s disease. All three disorders are now understood to form a web of interconnected disease processes that present as a failing body and brain as one ages.

The Diabetic Brain in Alzheimer’s Disease ebook is a thorough and revealing overview on how and why Alzheimer’s is so prevalent. It “Connects the dots between, type 2 diabetes, type 3 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.”, and it is a vital read for anyone wishing to arm themselves with the powerful knowledge that can empower their ability to take control over how their brain ages, and their risk for dementia.

“What a tremendous resource! Thank you for putting all of this great research in one great place.” I'm also extremely interested in warding off a family history of Alzheimer's and dementia. Medicine can be very powerful when we're able to identify the biochemical inefficiencies, apply specific dietary and nutritional remedies and apply a protocal to heal not just an individual but generations!

“A beautifully presented book that gives so much hope as we we start to understand that much of today's food industry practices are actually hurting us, even those without any genetic history of Diabetes or Alheimer's! I'm in my 40's and this book has opened my eyes to learning how to eat a ketogenc diet high in protein and low in carbs to start helping my brain energy metabolize efficiently. I Highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to combat the potential for having a diabetic brain and Alzheimer's.”
